Right now, I have to keep taking photos of the same few areas. The few things that have bloomed are doing well, but everything else is taking its sweet time to open up to spring. It will be worth the wait though, I'm sure!

Hello again! Today I have for you a collection of photos I took the other day. I have an adorable ornamental pear tree in my back yard and it's finally blooming. The flowers are sparse and everything surrounding the tree is still 50 shades of beige, but the flowers looked cute nonetheless! I also have included a few other photos of trees and mushrooms. I thought they looked nice with the photos of the pear blossoms ♥

Hello again! Today I have for you a few photos I took the other day. I decided to experiment with free lensing again and these are the results. I'm still learning and figuring out how to edit these photos, but I think they turned out nice! And look at those light leaks! I love that I can produce them on my own now (I used to edit in light leaks before I knew about free lensing). I just love the raspberry color of the ones I captured here.

I recently downloaded Photoshop and I've been playing around with different editing looks and what-not. I have a lot to learn, but it's fun and I look forward to improving! Here is a photo duo that I edited recently. They're old photos- taken over a year ago. I think they look a bit like stills from a movie. I like this look and hope I can recreate it again! 

(Side note: my hair was so red! I remember people telling me it was but I just couldn't see it myself. Looking at the photo now I see how red it really was. I miss it!)

Ah, once again the trees were tricked into budding, only to be frozen overnight by the cold and windy weather. Here is a small collection of photos from last week, when the red bud tree in my backyard began to grow. Don't the pink buds make a beautiful bokeh? ♥

For these photos I experimented with free lensing, or lens whacking. For anyone who may not know, lens whacking is a photography technique where the lens is detached from the body of the camera and tilted form side to side to create a soft focus. It's a cheap alternative to expensive tilt-shift lenses that give very similar effects. I love the way free lensed photos look. I really want to practice more with this technique. :)

Hey there! As I said in the previous post, everything is still brown and dull outside. There are very few lush and colorful things to photograph which makes getting outside with my camera a bit of a struggle. It's difficult to stay motivated when everything is brown and dead. 

Regardless, I have a few photos of some... weed things? I'm not sure if they're just overgrowth or an actual plant, haha. Oh well. I hope some flowers grow soon! Thanks for stopping by!

Hello again! Today I'd like to share with you some photos I took a few days ago. The weather here has been like a roller coaster- 30 degrees one day and 78 the next, only to fall back down to near freezing the following day. I don't mind the bipolar weather, but unfortunately the poor plants are super confused. Things grow and then wither within a few days. I've been searching for something pretty and green to photograph but so far nothing survives the cold nights. Oh well, I'll make do with what I can until spring is in full swing :)
